I must be mellowing out in my old age…

Some of you may have gathered from past posts that I am not a big fan of the holidays…for a variety of reasons.  But today, I am putting aside my well-practiced rant for a simple reminder: Be thankful 365.

I’ve recently seen a few people post the following question on Facebook:  “What if the only things you have tomorrow are the things you said Thank You for today?”   All throughout the bible there are versus telling us to be thankful.  To give thanks and praises despite our circumstances.  In the Old Testament there were elaborate rituals and offerings that had to be done, we’re getting off kind of easy.

So today….be thankful.

Next week….be thankful.

Next month when your coworkers are getting on your nerves at the holiday parties….be thankful.

In January when there are 12″ of snow that you need shovel in order to get to work….be thankful.

In April when it rains so hard that your basement floods…..be thankful.

In June when the bugs start to invade your home….be thankful.

In August when its 1000 degrees in the shade….be thankful.

Give thanks in all circumstances; for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus for you.
